One casting, every angle

Thin vanes, one pour, no welds. Turn this investment-cast vaned ring through a full revolution, the way our inspectors see it before it ships to a compressor, turbine or pump builder.

  1. 01

    Vanes cast in one piece

Investment casting forms every vane, shroud and hub in a single pour, so there are no welded joints to crack under cyclic load.

  2. 02

    Near-net shape

Thin, uniform walls come out of the ceramic shell close to final size, which cuts machining and keeps the vane geometry true.

  3. 03

    Machined where it matters

Bores, faces and seal lands are finished on 4-axis Makino VMCs to drawing tolerance.

  4. 04

    Checked before it ships

CMM reports, dye penetrant and radiography confirm geometry and soundness, with results traceable to the heat.

Where our castings work

From offshore platform to refinery, one supplier

Follow the line from the sea to the refinery. Upstream, midstream and downstream each attack metal in a different way, so each gets the alloy and casting process that suits its duty.

Upstream · Offshore

Platforms, risers and subsea

Seawater, chlorides and splash-zone attack decide alloy choice offshore. Super duplex, nickel alloys and seawater bronzes hold up where carbon steel would corrode fast.

  • Super duplex valve bodies for seawater and firewater
  • Lift and firewater pump parts in nickel-aluminium bronze
  • Topside and subsea instrument manifolds
Upstream · Onshore

Wellsites, trees and artificial lift

Pressure, sour gas and sand. Wellhead and artificial lift parts need hardness control for H2S and trim that survives erosion.

  • Wellhead and christmas tree parts
  • Choke and control valve trim in 17-4PH and Stellite 6
  • ESP pump stages and diffusers in Ni-Resist
Midstream

Pipelines, valves and compression

Long runs of pressure cycling, wet gas and hard winters. Pipeline valves and compressor parts need sound walls and grades that stay tough in the cold.

  • Ball, gate, globe and check valve bodies
  • Compressor and pump impellers and vaned rings
  • Metering and instrumentation bodies
Downstream

Refineries and petrochemicals

Heat, acids and abrasive process streams. Refinery pumps and valves call for 316L, duplex, Inconel 625 and heat-resistant grades.

  • Process pump casings and impellers
  • Control valve bodies and trim
  • Heat-resistant furnace and burner hardware
Anatomy of a cast valve

Take a ball valve apart

A floating ball valve looks simple until you specify it. Body, end connectors, ball and gland each see different stress and media, so each gets its own alloy and casting route. Scroll or use Explode view to take it apart, and drag to turn it. Green markers show the parts we cast and machine.

  1. Valve body

The pressure boundary. Cast in CF8M, CF3M, duplex 2205, super duplex 2507 or WCB by investment or shell casting, and radiographed where your plan requires.

  2. End connectors

Flanged or threaded ends that bolt to the body. Faces, seal pockets and bolt holes are machined in-house to drawing.

  3. Ball

The quarter-turn closure. Cast in 316 or 17-4PH, then machined and polished to a true spherical finish that seals against the seats.

  4. Gland and mounting pad

The stem seal and actuator interface, cast integral with the body or as a separate part and machined to a mounting pattern such as ISO 5211.

  5. Stem, seats and fasteners

Shown for context. Seat pockets in the body and end connectors are machined to hold them precisely.

A valve body gets no second chance. It holds line pressure, shrugs off chlorides and H2S and stays tight for decades. So we cast, treat and test every pressure part as if the whole line depends on it, because it does.

Quality, testing and traceability

See inside every critical casting

Move the lens across the valve body. Radiography reveals what the eye cannot: shrinkage, gas porosity and inclusions inside the pressure wall. Critical parts can be cleared to RT Level 1 before machining and are checked again at final inspection.

A sound casting shows even density through the wall. This is the standard every critical part must meet before it moves on to machining.

FAQ

Oil and gas castings: questions buyers ask

What oil and gas castings does Trushape manufacture?

We cast valve bodies, bonnets, end connectors, balls, discs and trim; pump impellers, casings, diffusers and ESP stages; wellhead and christmas tree parts; and manifold, fitting and instrumentation bodies. Parts run from 0.003 to 90 kg (0.007 to 198 lb) across six casting processes, supplied as-cast or machined ready to assemble.

Which alloys do you cast for sour service with H2S?

For sour service we cast duplex 2205 (CD3MN), super duplex 2507 (CE3MN), 316L (CF3M), CA6NM, 17-4PH and Inconel 625, and control hardness with in-house heat treatment and testing. Typical NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 limits include 22 HRC maximum for carbon and low-alloy steels and 33 HRC maximum for 17-4PH in the double H1150 condition.

When should I choose duplex or super duplex instead of 316L?

Compare pitting resistance (PREN). 316L at about 25 suits mild chloride service. Duplex 2205 at about 35 adds roughly double the yield strength and better chloride stress corrosion resistance. Super duplex 2507 at about 42 is the usual choice for seawater and subsea duty, where a PREN of 40 or more is the common rule of thumb.

Do you supply oil and gas castings to the USA, Canada and Europe?

Yes. Trushape is an export-focused foundry with a dedicated export desk, serving valve, pump and equipment makers across North America and Europe, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Norway and the European Union. Parts ship by sea or air freight with English documentation, and delivery terms are agreed per order.

What testing and documents come with each order?

Every batch ships with an EN 10204 3.1 material test certificate for chemistry and mechanical properties, or 3.2 when your order requires independent inspection. To match your inspection plan we add radiography to levels such as RT Level 1, ultrasonic, dye penetrant or magnetic particle testing, hardness and impact tests, pressure testing, CMM dimensional reports and heat treatment records, all traceable to the heat.

Do you hold API, PED or ASME certification?

No. Trushape is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 13485. We cast to your drawing, material specification and inspection plan, while product approvals such as API monograms, PED conformity and ASME stamps stay with the valve or pump manufacturer. We support your qualification with sample castings, test data and full records.

What size and weight range can you cast?

From 0.003 to 90 kg (0.007 to 198 lb). Investment casting covers 0.003 to 30 kg for thin-walled, detailed parts such as impellers and trim, while shell molding (5 to 60 kg), no-bake sand (3 to 40 kg) and lost foam (3.5 to 90 kg) handle larger valve bodies, casings and housings.

How quickly can I get sample castings?

With 3D-printed patterns, first metal samples are typically ready in 2 to 4 weeks from a CAD file, with no wait for tooling. Series production on hard wax tooling usually needs 8 to 12 weeks to first delivery, depending on complexity, alloy and the testing you specify.

Can you machine castings ready to install?

Yes. Our machine shop runs 8 CNC machines, including 4-axis Makino VMCs, so valve bodies, impellers and housings leave finished to drawing, with bores, seats, faces and threads machined and verified on a Zeiss CMM. One supplier handles casting, heat treatment, machining and testing.

Which ASTM and EN grade equivalents do you cast?

Common pairs include CF8M and 1.4408, CF3M and 1.4409, duplex CD3MN and 1.4470, super duplex CE3MN and 1.4469, CA6NM and 1.4317, and WCB and 1.0619. We cast to the ASTM, EN or customer specification on your drawing and confirm the chemistry of every heat by spectrometer.

Is investment casting or sand casting better for valve bodies?

Investment casting gives the best surface finish, thin walls and tight tolerances, ideal for small and mid-size valve bodies, balls and trim up to 30 kg. Shell molding and no-bake sand casting suit larger, heavier bodies at lower tooling cost. We run both, so the process follows your size, volume and tolerance.

Why source oil and gas castings from India?

India offers a deep foundry base, strong engineering talent and competitive cost, and gives North American and European buyers a proven second source outside China. Trushape adds an integrated plant, four ISO certifications, more than 24 years of casting experience and English documentation to make that switch low risk.

Ideas shaped, quality delivered

When a casting has to hold line pressure and resist corrosion for decades, choose a foundry that treats integrity as non-negotiable. Trushape casts, heat-treats, machines and verifies oil and gas components for equipment makers across North America and Europe.
